GDSE

I know I just created a theme not long ago but it never sat with me right. So I will be playing around with the site theme and features. I will be testing out a new links directory and search engine replace the current ones. Pardon the errors, if you run into them. Thanks.

Your construction hat that is. I’ve finally settled on a theme look. However, it will take some time to hammer everything into place. I’m going to develop the theme live so if the site looks a little odd at times, it could just be me messing with the CSS and graphics. Give me a few days and hopefully the new site looks will fall into place.

I did a little photoshop mockup of the new GDSE site. I’m no artist so I mashed up about 4 different templates from Templatelite. The designer is really good and I like his use of colours. I’m going for a slightly grunge / steampunk look. Here is the first concept:

I’m just attempting to bring the GDSE back to life a bit. The Event Calendar is fully working and many of the events I used to track are back on the books. I have a Job Posting section started. It still needs work but the basic shell is there. The Link Directory has been loaded but there are a few limitations of WordPress that I have to overcome before it will display the way I want it to. The search engine itself will take some time before it will be up and running. And [ ... ]

I didn’t think I would bring it back but I’m currently toying with the idea of bring back the GDSE. (Game Development Search Engine)  It has been over two years since this site went down.  However, sometimes it is good to start fresh.  It gets rid of all the old clutter. What do you think?  Would you like to see the GDSE return?
